Rod Garcia was instrumental in his team's 9-1 triumph over the Arizona Desert Storm. The left fielder was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Kyiv Cossacks. Miguel Torres, now 2-1, picked up the win in relief. Kyiv grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Garcia hit a 2-run home run off Won-hyung Kim. His 12th home run of the season put the Cossacks out in front, 2-0.

"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Cossacks," said Garcia.
