Wayfinders Deal Cossacks 6-4 Loss
|
The Waikiki Wayfinders bested the Kyiv Cossacks by a score of 6-4, with first baseman Cody Myers getting the main credit. On the day, Myers belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Wayfinders. Johnny Budin, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Waikiki occupies third place in the Federation League Birdbrains Division at 28-40.
Myers delivered in the clutch for Waikiki. In the bottom of the tenth, he took a 1-1 slider from Kyiv pitcher Cheong-won Hwang and parked it over the fence. The 2-run home run won it for Waikiki.
Myers said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
