Pizzas Lose, 4-3, at Sportsman's Park
|
The Los Angeles Kings picked up a win at Sportsman's Park, knocking off the Detroit Pizzas, 4-3. On the mound for Los Angeles was left-hander Steve Thomas, who played a pivotal role in the win. Thomas went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 4-2. Thomas Lloyd sewed up the save, his 12th.
The Kings got a big at-bat from third baseman Ryan Scott. For the game, Scott went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 3-2 lead.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Scott said.
The loss makes Detroit 38-29.
