Gutierrez has 3 hits to Fuel Beavers Offense
The Portland Beavers trumped the Havana Sugar Kings, 9-5, at Beavers Park. Portland first baseman Danny Gutierrez was terrific. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The win went to Victor Velasco in relief, making him now 7-1. Kwan-wuk Tae took the loss for Havana. Andy Buhrke nailed down his 18th save.

Luke Spradley had a big 2-run home run for the Beavers in the bottom of the first inning. With Portland trailing 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a cutter from Kwan-wuk Tae, who led the AL in wins with 23 in 2043, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Beavers on top, 2-1.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Spradley told the Portland Times.

The Beavers now have a record of 32-35 with the win over Havana.
