Desert Storm Rally For Late Win Over Hyenas
|
The East Haddam Hyenas got a sterling performance from pitcher Einar Galindo, but the Arizona Desert Storm still prevailed, 4-2. Galindo threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Andy Buhrke picked up the save for Arizona, his 1st of the year. East Haddam now is 1-6.
Arizona used a timely hit from Clement Pecchia to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Desert Storm ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.
In postgame remarks, Pecchia hailed his team's "single-minded focus."
