Brooklyn Victorious, 7-0, Versus San Antonio
|
Getting an impressive start from Ray Totino, Brooklyn beat San Antonio by the score of 7-0. Brooklyn is now 36-32, San Antonio 33-35.
Silvio Veldhoven had a big 2-run home run for the Knights in the bottom of the third inning. With Brooklyn leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from John Griese, who finished 3rd in the AL in innings pitched with 226.1 in 2046, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Knights on top, 3-0.
"Winning never gets dull," said Veldhoven.
