The Detroit Pizzas topped the Los Angeles Kings, 4-3, in Alliance League action at Pizzas Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Detroit pitcher and Gimhae, South Korea, native Kwan-wuk Tae. Detroit currently is in second place in the Alliance League Boneheads Division at 33-33.

Rich Ostapowicz was the walk-off hero for Detroit. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pizzas first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Detroit manager Evan Compton.
