Blank Rips 2 Homers in 5-2 Win

The Yellowstone Super Volcano beat the Detroit Pizzas, 5-2, at Volcano Ballpark. The Super Volcano got a fine performance from left fielder Bobby Blank, who was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Jim Davis got the win, improving to 5-5. He worked 8 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 0. Ryan Podolsky earned his 9th save, after closing out the game.
A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Blank hit a fastball from Brad Riddick for a run-scoring single, putting Yellowstone up, 3-1.
Said losing manager Evan Compton: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The second-place Pizzas have dropped 4 straight games.
