5 Hits for Loons Ramos
|
There was no storybook ending. Efrain Ramos of the Great Lakes Loons socked it to the visiting Killarney Lakes with a terrific 5-hit game, but his team didn't get the win. The Loons fell, 9-6, at Galaxy Ballpark.
"I don't want to sound ungrateful, but something is missing here," Ramos complained following the loss. "When you have a great game you should win the game, too."
He definitely had an unforgettable day in the batter's box, ripping out 5 hits in 7 at-bats. Great Lakes manager Bobby Wilcher sympathized with his center fielder, telling BNN reporters after the game that "Efrain played a whale of a game, but sometimes individual brilliance is not enough."
Efrain Ramos singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jacob Cooper in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 9th, grounded out in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
This year, Ramos is batting .214 with 4 home runs.
