Waikiki Absorbs 6-5 Loss to Arizona
|
Arizona picked up a win at Desert Storm Stadium, bumping off the Waikiki Wayfinders, 6-5. Pitcher Mario Martinez was a major reason the Desert Storm emerged victorious. The winner was Martinez. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Bobby Bassett. The last-place Desert Storm are 25-38.
Making an impact for the home team was Su-yeong Lee. In the bottom of the first, the 29-year old right fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Desert Storm.
"I know we have our doubters," said Waikiki manager GM Yokotuna. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
