Sudbury Nets 2-1 Win Versus Chicks
|
Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs starter Josh Deere hurled his team past the Memphis Chicks, 2-1. Sudbury reliever Eric Barone got the win, raising his record to 3-5. Matt Schille was tagged with the loss. The victory gives Sudbury a record of 32-32.
Sudbury got a game-changing hit from Hugo Cabrera. The first baseman blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager John Griffin.
