Desert Storm Win, 3-2, Versus Dublin
|
The Arizona Desert Storm satisfied the home crowd at Desert Storm Stadium, treating them to a season-opening win, 3-2, over the Dublin Porters in 11 innings. Starting Pitcher Kevin Spencer was the standout performer for Arizona.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the 11th for Arizona. That's when Joe Gainey hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Gorman to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager GM PerryPHX.
