Avila Rips Flagstaff for 5 Hits

It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Roberto Avila -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Skyhawks Ballpark and paced the 8-2 Dolphins win over the Flagstaff Skyhawks.
After his dynamite batting performance, the Da Nang shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."
His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Roberto Avila hit a two-run home run off Brent McCormick in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
Avila is currently batting .259 with 3 home runs and 15 RBIs.
