Kings Claw Out 2-1 Win

Both teams had their chances, but the Los Angeles Kings eventually prevailed.
In a tight game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Buffalo Buffalo, pitcher Steve Wilkerson was terrific on the mound. The Los Angeles right-hander helped his team to the 2-1 win. Evan King snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-3 on the season. Andy Pittman suffered the loss. Jim Davis earned the save for Los Angeles, his 17th of the year.
Had Mike Robertson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Robertson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Kings.
"Steve gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Los Angeles skipper Jim KP.
Los Angeles now sports a record of 31-30.
