The Los Angeles Kings and Portland Beavers provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Portland Beavers beat the Los Angeles Kings, 6-5, at Sportsman's Park. Portland third baseman Marco Estrada had the hot bat. He hit 2 home runs. Andy Buhrke closed out the game, earning his 16th save.
With Portland leading 5-1 in the top of the eighth, Estrada batted against Los Angeles pitcher Ricardo Hernandez. Estrada hit a fastball to left-center for a solo home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Beavers on top, 6-1.
"We've got a great group of guys," Estrada said, "and we're having fun right now."
Portland improves to 36-24 with the win. They lead their division by 6 games.
