Archies Rack Up 3-1 Win Versus Arizona
|
The first-place St. Louis Archies took on the Arizona Desert Storm in front of a spirited crowd.
St. Louis beat Arizona on the strength of starting pitcher Jim Harrington's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Jason Derrick notched his 18th save in 21 chances.
St. Louis took a 2-1 lead on Brian Nadeau's 15th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Nadeau hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Arizona pitcher Kevin Spencer visibly frustrated.
"All my pitches were working," said Harrington. "They were all synchronized together in attacking the zone."
St. Louis is now 46-14. Arizona is 29-30.
