The Dublin Porters downed the Lansing Red Storm, 6-3. The hitting star was designated hitter Jason Widel. Widel belted 3 home runs for the Porters. Picking up the win was Karl Gordam. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The left--hander struck out 7 and walked 3. Wayne Murphy earned his 11th save, after closing out the game.

Widel had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Sergio Bahena, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Porters a 4-3 lead. It was the 51st home run of the year for Widel.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Widel told the Dublin Daily News.

The second-place Porters are 87-75.
