Buffalo turned a fine outing from starter Danny Staley into a victory over the Detroit Pizzas at Pizzas Ballpark. The final score was 1-0. Randy Nelson was called on to finish, recording his 17th save. Buffalo is now 78-84, Detroit 94-68.

It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Staley, who tallied 11 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing just 5 hits. Staley, who is on pace for 233 strikeouts this season, goes to 7-12 on the year with 233 strikeouts.
