The Memphis Chicks topped the Arizona Desert Storm, 5-4, in Federation League action at Desert Storm Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Memphis pitcher and Euclid, Ohio, native Dan Elliott. Elliott got the win, improving to 12-12. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The first-place Desert Storm have lost 4 straight games.

Memphis used a big swing from Mike Hernandez to get the win. The center fielder walloped a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Chicks up, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.

"When Dan is on, he can really move the ball around," said Memphis manager GM KDR.
