Portland right-hander Jason Scothorn helped his team edge Buffalo by the score of 2-1. Scothorn kept the opposing lineup in check. Portland now owns a record of 77-84.
Portland used a clutch hit from Mike Webster to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Beavers ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a doozy.
Afterward, Beavers manager GM bigbluex02 was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
