Los Angeles Loses, 2-1, in 11
|
The Brooklyn Knights picked up a win at Sportsman's Park, downing the Los Angeles Kings, 2-1. On the mound for Brooklyn was left-hander Manny Aguayo, who played a pivotal role in the win. Evan King, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. The losses continue to mount for Los Angeles, which has now dropped 8 in a row.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Knights had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fifth, when third baseman Kyle Norwood hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Chris Shea and made the score 1-0, Knights. Norwood was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk.
"That's baseball," said Los Angeles manager Jim KP. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
