Kings Squeeze By Brooklyn, 3-2
|
The Los Angeles Kings had to overcome a good performance from Brooklyn pitcher Manny Aguayo to claim a 3-2 win at Brooklyn Coliseum. Aguayo went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Evan King earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 5-3. Brooklyn is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 8 in a row.
Timely hitting helped the Kings beat the Knights. Prime example: the two-out single Dominique Petrocelli registered in the top of the eighth. Facing Amari Smith, Petrocelli gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a run-scoring single.
Los Angeles manager Jim KP called it "a pretty good win."
