Though he had a stellar game, Matt Freese could not prevent his team, the Havana Sugar Kings, from losing, 6-3, to the Los Angeles Kings. Freese was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Steve Wilkerson, the winner, improved to 6-2. He held Havana to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. Los Angeles is 26-32 and Havana, with the loss, 30-29.
The Kings got a big at-bat from third baseman Dominique Petrocelli. For the game, Petrocelli went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 4-3 lead.
