Beavers Lose By a Run at Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Kings spoiled a good performance by Portland catcher David Terkeurst, bumping off Portland, 7-6, at Sportsman's Park. Terkeurst was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jim Davis earned the save, his 16th, for the Kings. The loss makes Portland 34-24.

The Beavers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Kings going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Dave Martinez came to the plate. Martinez hit a 2-run home run on a 3-0 fastball from Portland hurler Victor Velasco. It was Martinez's 8th home run of the year.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Martinez.
