Torres Leads Philadelphia to 9-0 Win Over San Bernardino
|
Ruben Torres bent a little, but he didn't break against the San Bernardino Seahawks. The Philadelphia Spartans pitcher hurled a 7-hit, 9-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering no walks and tallying 9 strikeouts.
"Ruben is good at getting out of jams," Spartans manager Andy Zita told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
