Pizzas Suffer One-Run Loss at Los Angeles
Phil Beard pitched well, but his team, the Detroit Pizzas, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Los Angeles Kings at Sportsman's Park. Los Angeles pitcher Rogelio Gudino earned the win, hiking his record to 3-1. Phil Beard suffered the loss. Eric Barone, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 29th save.

Gabe Herrera, who finished 5th in the AL in slugging percentage with .566 in 2047, contributed to the Los Angeles win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
