Hyenas Rally to Eke Out Win
The East Haddam Hyenas did just enough to sneak past the Arizona Desert Storm, 3-2, at Ballpark of East Haddam. East Haddam pitcher Edgar Hernandez, in particular, had a standout performance. Ricky Pinto earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. East Haddam, now 66-92, holds down last place in the Federation League Knuckleheads Division.

Up to bat in the bottom of the 12th, 28-year old left fielder Victor Ochoa had a chance to be the hero. Arizona pitcher Esteban Vega had other ideas. But with no outs, Ochoa drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Hyenas had themselves a dramatic win.

"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Ochoa told a East Haddam Today reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
