Thompson Hits 2 home runs in Porters Win
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Dublin Porters and San Antonio Aztecs.

The performance of Peter Thompson proved critical in helping Dublin beat San Antonio, 14-5. The Porters first baseman was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Juan Gonzalez, the winner, goes to 6-6. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 9 strikeouts over 7.1 innings.

Dublin used the hitting of Ciro Montorsi to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Porters on top, 6-1. For the game, Montorsi had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

In comments to the Dublin Daily News, Thompson admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
