Kings Sneak By Chicks, 2-1
|
The Los Angeles Kings picked up a win at Sportsman's Park, knocking off the Memphis Chicks, 2-1. Starting pitcher Shurik Neretin played a key role in the triumph. Los Angeles reliever Thomas Lloyd got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Cody Harbaugh was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Memphis sinks to 4-2.
Los Angeles won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Cody Harbaugh on the mound for Memphis, first baseman Ruben Quijas hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Kings fans to their feet.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Los Angeles manager Jim Drysdale said.
