The Memphis Chicks could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Billy Roland into a win. Instead, the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs prevailed, 6-3. Roland threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Sudbury is now 82-75, Memphis 75-82.

Sudbury took the lead, 6-3, on Dan Dirks's 2nd home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Memphis pitcher Matt Schille in the bottom of the eighth.

"Enjoyed this one," Dirks told the Sudbury Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
