The Kyiv Cossacks could not turn a fine performance from shortstop Alberto Salinas into a win. Instead, the Arizona Desert Storm prevailed, 5-4. Salinas was 3 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Ronaldo Sardinha got the win, improving to 5-1. He worked 7.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 12 and walking 4. Picking up his 13th save was 28-year old right-handed pitcher Terry Donohue.

Arizona used the hitting of Ben Potgeter to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Desert Storm on top, 5-3. For the game, Potgeter had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Kyiv manager Salvador Rubio.

The loss makes Kyiv 30-27.
