Thanks in large part to designated hitter Eddie Garcia, the Arizona Desert Storm beat the Pittsburgh Yinzers, 12-2. Garcia was 4 for 6 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 and driving in 5. Terry Donohue picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-4 on the season. He struck out 12 and walked 1 in 8 innings, while yielding 2 runs. Arizona goes to 28-29, Pittsburgh to 28-29.
The game was on the line with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but Terry Donohue didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Pittsburgh trailing 4-2, Donohue retired Dwaine Byrne to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Donohue, with a wink.
