McCauley Helps Hyenas Beat Pizzas, 9-6

East Haddam and Detroit got after it at Pizzas Ballpark.
The East Haddam Hyenas grabbed a win, 9-6, over the Detroit Pizzas at Pizzas Ballpark. East Haddam right fielder Matt McCauley was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. East Haddam pitcher Einar Galindo earned the win, hiking his record to 5-3. Bobby Tate suffered the loss. The save went to John Motz, his 10th this season.
East Haddam used a clutch at-bat from Jerrod Conners to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hyenas ahead, 7-5. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Conners said.
The Hyenas now have a record of 26-32.
