Pizzas Win Streak Reaches 7
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at Pizzas Ballpark.
Tyler Almond was a major contributor to the 6-3 Detroit win over Brooklyn. The Pizzas right fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. Jose Giminez got the save, his 41st in 44 chances.
Detroit took a 5-3 lead on Almond's 9th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Pete Gamblin in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Detroit to the win.
Almond attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The Pizzas have now won 7 straight.
