Porters Earn Clutch Win, 4-3
|
The Arizona Desert Storm could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Mario Martinez into a win. Instead, the Dublin Porters prevailed, 4-3, in 10 innings. Martinez threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The Porters bumped their record to 84-72 with this latest triumph.
The Porters got a clutch hit from first baseman Peter Thompson. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Porters.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Arizona manager GM Fetty.
