The Portland Beavers defeated the Hanoi Dragon Warriors, 7-6. Doing his part was center fielder Matt Lamons, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win went to Tony Orellana in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Amari Smith took the loss. Portland, now 86-70, holds down first place in the Alliance League Dimwits Division.

Had Ethan Breaux not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Breaux hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Beavers.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Lamons, "but we got it done."
