Knights Top Buffalo in Extras, 5-3
|
Buffalo got a decent performance from pitcher Noah Ellenbecker, but it wasn't enough to beat the Brooklyn Knights. Brooklyn won the The Greenhouse contest, 5-3. Ellenbecker threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. The Knights sit in second place in the Alliance League Boneheads Division with a record of 86-70.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Silvio Veldhoven? The 27-year old first baseman Veldhoven stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 15th inning to put Brooklyn up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 7, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Veldhoven.
