Josh Freeland pitched a gem to lead Sudbury to victory over the St. Louis Archies, 7-1. The winner was Freeland. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Mike Ricketts. Brett Richardson earned the save, his 7th, for the Blueberry Bulldogs.

Michel Carvalho had a big 2-run double for the Blueberry Bulldogs in the bottom of the second inning. With Sudbury leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Mike Ricketts, who is a three-time All-Star, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 34th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blueberry Bulldogs ahead, 3-0.

Carvalho attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."

With the win, Sudbury upped its record to 81-74.
