Blueberry Bulldogs Upend Red Storm, 5-2
|
The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs handed the Lansing Red Storm a loss at Ballpark of Atlanta. The final score was 5-2. Chris Edwards made the highlight reel for Sudbury. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 1. He also added 2 bases on balls. Siu-chung Chieu, the winner, goes to 10-14. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. The win puts Sudbury at 85-70 this season.
Nick Rojas had a big 2-run home run for the Blueberry Bulldogs in the top of the sixth inning. With Sudbury leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 28-year old left-handed pitcher Adam Widener and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Blueberry Bulldogs on top, 4-1.
Sudbury manager Lord Parquad called it "a pretty good win."
