Los Angeles beat Buffalo at Sportsman's Park, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to catcher Brett Artis. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Reliever Jesus Valdez picked up the win. His record improves to 6-4. Tim Ocampo, who is tied for 4th in the AL in complete games with 2, took the loss. Picking up the save was 30-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Barone.
Los Angeles took a 4-2 lead on Artis's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Tim Ocampo in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Los Angeles to the win.
Artis attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
The last-place Kings go to 55-100.
