The Dublin Porters defeated the Waikiki Wayfinders, 7-4, in Federation League action at Porters Ballpark. Dublin pitcher Adam D'Amonte had a standout performance. D'Amonte yielded 3 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 12. His record improves to 8-11. The Porters now have a record of 69-85 with the win over Waikiki.
The Wayfinders had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Porters going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the two-time All-Star Pat Hamilton came to the plate. Hamilton hit a 2-run double on a 1-2 changeup from Waikiki hurler Joe Johnson. It was Hamilton's 13th double of the year.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Hamilton told the Dublin Gazette.
