Dragon Warriors Capture 7-4 Win at Sugardome II
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Scott Jennings, the Hanoi Dragon Warriors defeated the Havana Sugar Kings, 7-4. Jennings went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Dragon Warriors. Aaron Wierzba picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 14-10. Earning his 38th save of the year was Noah Powell.
Hanoi used a well-timed hit by Danny Laines to capture the win. The left fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Dragon Warriors ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Jennings said.
The Dragon Warriors improved their record to 77-77 with the win over Havana.
