Down Goes Detroit, 7-3, to Brooklyn
|
The game between Brooklyn and Detroit is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Brooklyn Knights picked up a win at Pizzas Ballpark, topping the Detroit Pizzas, 7-3. On the mound for Brooklyn was right-hander Ray Totino. He played a principal role in the triumph. Brooklyn has run its win streak to 4 in a row.
Josh Deere had a big 2-run home run for the Knights in the top of the first inning. With Brooklyn leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Phil Beard, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in strikeouts with 248, and punished it. The result was his 36th home run of the season, which put the Knights on top, 3-0.
"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Deere.
