Detroit pitcher Phil Beard did his part in helping his team defeat the Brooklyn Knights, 11-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The win elevated the Pizzas to 90-64.

It was a masterful performance from the popular Beard, who notched 10 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing 4 hits. Beard, who finished 5th in the AL in ERA with 3.43 in 2047, goes to 18-9 on the year with 227 strikeouts.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Beard.
