Wayfinders Capture Close Win
|
Waikiki Wayfinders starter Joe Johnson led his team to victory over the Osaka Takoyaki, 3-2. The left-hander was locked-in. Waikiki reliever Chad Telfer snagged the win, upping his record to 5-8. Mark Foglesong shouldered the loss. With the win, Waikiki goes to 60-93, while the Takoyaki fall to 81-72.
Cody Myers came through with a big-time hit for Waikiki. The catcher smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Joe throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Waikiki manager GM Yokotuna.
