A good performance from second baseman Eddie Chavez helped the Lansing Red Storm defeat the Memphis Chicks, 6-4. Chavez went 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs for the Red Storm. Cameron Elson nailed down his 26th save. The victory puts Lansing at 56-97.

Chavez had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 sinker from Jeremy Myers, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the Red Storm a 5-4 lead. It was the 12th double of the year for Chavez.

In comments to the Lansing Chronicle, Chavez admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
