Takoyaki Take Tight Tilt, 2-1
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Osaka Takoyaki and St. Louis Archies.
Osaka starter Billy Roland put the St. Louis offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his fastball in leading the Takoyaki to a 2-1 win. The third-place Takoyaki now have a win-loss record of 71-82.
In the bottom of the 5th, Osaka took the lead on a 2-run single by Robert Escobedo. At the time, the Takoyaki were trailing 1-0, but Escobedo's hit with two outs against St. Louis pitcher Nate Edmondson put them in front, 2-1.
"I love playing this game, so you'll never see me not want to go out there and pitch," said Roland.
