The Kyiv Cossacks scored a tight, 3-2 win versus the Lansing Red Storm at Ballpark of Atlanta. Kyiv pitcher Mark Powers held his own in the contest. Casey Burgess got the save, his 4th in 8 chances. Kyiv is now 73-80. Lansing is 55-97.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Kyle Alcala was at the plate when Kyiv scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Cossacks to go in front, 3-2.

Powers described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
