The first-place Buffalo Buffalo took on the New York Empire in front of a spirited crowd.

Rick Santy never let the Empire get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Buffalo to a win, 5-1. The winning pitcher was Santy, now 19-9. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7.

With two out in the bottom of the first, Leo Silva barreled up a changeup from Darren Manos. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Buffalo in front, 3-0.

"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Silva said.

Buffalo has now won 4 in a row.
