Big Day for Takahashi in 7-4 Empire Win
The New York Empire beat the Buffalo Buffalo by a score of 7-4. New York first baseman Suguru Takahashi deserved the lion's share of the credit. Takahashi went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs for the Empire. Jason Sumrall earned the win to go to 3-6. He allowed 3 runs on 12 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts in 7 innings of work. New York, at 25-33, occupies last place in the Alliance League Boneheads Division.

New York used the timely hitting of Andrew McGrath to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Empire ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
