The Lansing Red Storm beat the Kyiv Cossacks by a score of 8-5. Lansing second baseman Eddie Chavez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Chavez was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Red Storm. After today's action, Lansing sits at 54-96; Kyiv slips to 72-79.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tyler Farrell in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a grand slam home run off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jimmy Gold to win the game for Lansing. The home crowd went nuts.
