Beavers Take Tight Tangle
|
The Portland Beavers trumped the Brooklyn Knights, 7-6, at Beavers Park. Portland second baseman Oscar Hernandez was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. With the win over Brooklyn, the Beavers improved to 69-81.
Danny Gutierrez was the walk-off hero for Portland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Beavers first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hernandez said.
