Cossacks Send Sudbury Home with 5-1 Loss
The Kyiv Cossacks beat the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs, 5-1. Kyiv pitcher and Havelock, North Carolina, native Mark Powers led the way. With the win over Sudbury, the Cossacks improved to 71-77.

Kyiv left fielder Rod Garcia contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 173rd hit of the season and put the Cossacks ahead, 4-0.

Garcia attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
