Sugar Kings Strike Down Super Volcano, 10-3
The Havana Sugar Kings beat the Yellowstone Super Volcano, 10-3, at Sugardome II. Havana designated hitter Billy Olson banged out 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Austin Briese got the save, the 1st for him this season. By defeating Yellowstone, the second-place Sugar Kings improved to 82-66.

Cesar Lopez had a big 3-run home run for the Sugar Kings in the bottom of the third inning. With Havana trailing 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from John Griese, who is on pace for 202 strikeouts this season, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 23rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sugar Kings ahead, 5-3.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Olson told the Havana Today. "It's as simple as that."
