John Mitchell never let Lansing get something going. The Sudbury left-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Blueberry Bulldogs to a 5-0 win. The winning pitcher was Mitchell, now 5-17. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. Sudbury occupies last place in the Federation League Birdbrains Division at 63-83.

Américo Bugarim had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Sudbury. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Sudbury in front, 2-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Mitchell told the Sudbury Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
